Reporting Abuse
How to report content, an account, or a message — and where each kind of report goes
Subscribers, applicants, and other users supply the listings, descriptions, photographs, messages, references, and other content that appears in the Services. We do not author, edit, endorse, or adopt that content, and we have no obligation to monitor it — but we can remove or restrict it, and we want to hear about content or conduct that violates our Terms of Service or the law.
Report content, an account, or a message
Email Contact@RentalApplication.ai with the subject line "Abuse Report". To let us act quickly, please include:
- What you are reporting — a URL, a screenshot, the message text, or the account, listing, or report reference;
- When you saw it, and how you encountered it;
- Why you believe it violates our Terms or the law;
- How we can reach you if we need more detail.
We review every report we receive. We may remove, disable, or restrict content, suspend or terminate an account, or decline to act, in our sole discretion — and we may be unable to tell you the outcome of a report about someone else's account.
Anonymous reports. You may report anonymously by leaving your contact details out. We will still review it, but we will not be able to follow up with you or ask clarifying questions, which sometimes means we cannot act.
Emergencies
If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services (911 in the United States) first. We are not an emergency service and cannot dispatch help.
Send these to the right place
Several kinds of report have their own process, and using it will get you a faster and better answer:
- Copyright infringement — use the notice procedure in our DMCA & Copyright Policy, which has specific statutory requirements.
- Something wrong in a screening report about you — that is a Fair Credit Reporting Act dispute, not an abuse report. File it at disputes.rentalapplication.ai, and see Your Rights Under the FCRA. Disputes about data in a consumer report may also need to go to the consumer reporting agency that supplied it; our disputes page will route you.
- Privacy requests — access, deletion, correction, and opt-out requests go through Your Privacy Choices.
- Fair-housing concerns. Housing decisions are made by the landlord or property manager who ordered the screening, not by us. You may report discrimination to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development at hud.gov/fairhousing or 1-800-669-9777, and we would also like to know if it involved our Services.
- Security vulnerabilities — email Contact@RentalApplication.ai with the subject line "Security". Please do not test against other people's accounts or data.
Unsolicited texts, calls, or email from us
Reply STOP to any text message to opt out, use the unsubscribe link in any email, or tell us on a call. You can also email Contact@RentalApplication.ai and we will suppress your contact details. If a landlord or property manager contacted you through our Services, they control their own lists too, so it is worth telling them directly as well.
Retaliation and bad-faith reports
Reports made to harass someone, to suppress accurate consumer-report information, or that knowingly misrepresent the facts may result in action against the reporting account. A copyright notice in particular carries penalties for knowing misrepresentation under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).
